The top three automakers for the true fleet market on the month was led by Peugeot, which was up 25.9% on the month, and was followed by Renault, which saw a small growth of 1.6%), according to Dataforce. In third was Citroën, which saw the most significant growth of the top three automakers, increasing 74.6%.

The German brands of Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi took the next four slots on the ladder with Audi dominating in growth percentages with an impressive 30.4%, thanks predominately to the Q3, which was its brands most registered model.

Following this were Fiat and Toyota, in eighth and ninth place, respectively. Ford rounded out the top 10 and both the Focus and Ecosport more than doubled their corresponding totals from May last year.

Regarding fuel types, diesel’s decline in true fleets continued seemingly unabated, down 10.2% to a little over 125,000 registrations, marking the lowest year-to-date May figures since the global financial crisis of 2009. Petrol registrations meanwhile have grown substantially, up 63.8%, and have more than taken up the slack left by the diesel decline. Meanwhile, alternative fuels (mostly electric and hybrid) have pushed their footprint up by 18.9% when compared to last year.
