France Fleet Registrations Fall in October

Fleet registrations in France saw a 3% dip in October, following a previous decline of 1.5% in September, which was the result of the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) deadline, which is a new required measurement of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, as well as their pollutant emissions, effective Sept. 1.

This was followed by Renault in second place in terms of top fleet registrations, which also saw two vehicles make the top 10 list of fleet models registered in Paris during October 2018. Citroen, Volkswagen, and Toyota, placed in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Registrations of the Toyota Yaris helped bolster registrations for the automaker, posting a 80.6% growth on the month, according to Dataforce.

Meanwhile, the share of alternative fuel vehicles registered in Paris was the highest across all regions of France at 11.0%, between the months of January 2018 to October 2018. This was the result of hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. While the average in France was 4.9%, in Paris 8.7% of all new cars registered on fleets were equipped with a hybrid powertrain.
