SANTA MONICA, CA – Kenneth Baker, former GM Electric Vehicle Division program manager, and John Wallace, former Ford Director of Environmental Vehicles, recently joined Miles Electric Vehicles' (Miles EV) Board of Advisors.

"As pioneers in the electric vehicle industry, both Ken and John will be invaluable assets to Miles Electric Vehicles as we bring our all electric, highway speed sedan to market in the United States," said Miles CEO Kevin Czinger. "With the leadership of our new Board members, Miles Electric Vehicles is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive industry," he said.

Baker has nearly 40 years of experience in the automotive industry and is a proven leader in identifying and employing advanced technologies and business practices, according to Miles EV. He has held key positions in General Motors Corporation, Energy Conversion Devices, Inc., and Altarum.

At GM, Baker held the positions of vice president of global research and development, vice president of the Distributed Energy Business Division, and director of the Service Technology, Vehicle Engineering CPC, and Advanced Vehicle Engineering groups. While leading GM's electric vehicle division, Baker founded the United States Advanced Battery Consortium and was chairman of the Board of the Electric Transportation Coalition. He is widely credited with bringing the EV1 to market. Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in New York.

Wallace joins the Advisory Board with more than 25 years of engineering expertise in the automotive industry and specific knowledge of developing alternative fuel vehicle programs for vehicle manufacturers. Prior to his retirement, Wallace held executive positions with Intel Corporation, Perkin-Elmer, Precision Microdesign, Inc., Ford Microelectronics, and the Ford Motor Company.

In 1989, Wallace became a valuable asset in the development of Ford's alternative fuel vehicle program and was eventually given responsibility for electric drive activities for all of Ford's brands. His executive positions at Ford included director of Technology Development Programs, director of Electric Vehicle Programs, director of Alternative Fuel Vehicles, director of Environmental Vehicles, and executive director of TH!NK Group. Wallace has also held the position of Chairman of TH!NK Nordic, the United States Advanced Battery Consortium, the Electric Vehicle Association of the Americas, and Ecostar. In 1999, he was one of the founders of the California Fuel Cell Partnership and served as its first chairman. Wallace attended Houston-based Rice University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering.
