Ford Sweeps North American Truck of the Year Nominations
WASHINGTON, D.C. — It´s already a given that a Ford Motor Company vehicle will win the 2005 North American Truck of the Year (TOTY) award since all three finalists are from the company´s truck lineup, according to a report on FCN news on December 14.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — It´s already a given that a Ford Motor Company vehicle will win the 2005 North American Truck of the Year (TOTY) award since all three finalists are from the company´s truck lineup, according to a report on FCN news on December 14. Ford and Land Rover swept the nominations for the TOTY trophy with the Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Freestyle, and Land Rover LR3 vying for the overall honor. Ford Motor Company is the first manufacturer ever to sweep and entire category. The three were selected from a list of a dozen new light-truck vehicles introduced in North America during the past year. In addition, the 2005 Mustang is one of three finalists for the North American Car of the Year (COTY) honor. Competitors for the COTY aware are the Chevrolet Corvette and the Chrysler 300C. The winner will be announced Jan. 9, at the North American International Auto Show.
