Ford is recalling 50,000 older battery-electric passenger cars from three nameplates, including the Focus Electric, Fusion Energi, and C-Max Energi, due to a possible defect with the 120-volt convenience charging cable that could cause a fire, according to the company.
Ford is recalling 2012 to 2015 Focus Electric compact cars built at the Michigan Assembly Plant from Sept. 15, 2011 to March 14, 2015; 2013 to 2015 Fusion Energi midsize sedans built at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant from Sept. 4, 2012 to March 5, 2015; and 2013 to 2015 C-Max compact cars built at the Michigan Assembly Plant from April 13, 2012 to March 14, 2015.
