Ford Recalls F-250/F-350 Truck Steering Gears
The service replacement steering gears, at risk for breaking, might be installed on 2008-2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty diesel vehicles in North America.

Ford Motor Co. is recalling 538 service replacement steering gears that may have been installed on 2008-2010 model-year Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty diesel trucks in North America.
The trucks involved are equipped with a 6.4-liter engine.
The problem stems from a replacement steering gear mounting flange that does not rest flush against the vehicle frame. The result can be steering gear bolt fatigue. Over time and with high mileage, the replacement steering gear bolts may break, increasing the risk of a crash, Ford said.
Ford, however, noted it has no knowledge of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Ford said it is aware of 375 steering gears that may have been installed on vehicles in the U.S. and federalized territories, 156 in Canada and seven in Mexico.
Dealers will replace the bolts and install spacers between the steering gear and the vehicle frame. The work will be completed at no cost to customers.
