WASHINGTON - Ford Motor Co. is recalling 1,658 model-year 2011 Explorers that were manufactured from July 15 through Dec. 13 of 2010. The second-row seats on the recalled SUVs don't meet all federal standards and pose a safety risk in the event of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
Ford dealers will repair the seats free of charge. The recall is expected to get under way around Feb. 14.
