Ford's president and chief executive of its Canadian market, Mark Buzzell, will return to the U.S. as the director of North American Fleet, Lease and Remarketing Operations starting Jan. 1, Ford has announced.
Buzzell replaces Kevin Koswick, who will retire after serving in the role since January 2008. He will oversee commericial and government fleet sales, including remarketing efforts for the manufacturer. He also has brand responsibilities for Ford's commercial vans, chassis cabs, police vehicles, taxis, limousines, livery, and recreational vehicles. Ford's market share now stands at 43% of U.S. commercial vehicle sales.
Buzzell has led Ford's Canadian business since January 2017, including a national headquarters, three regional offices, three vehicle assembly and engine plants, and two parts centers. Ford employs 8,000 people in Canada.
Prior to leading Ford's Canadian operation, Buzzell served as general manager for the western U.S. He began that role in February 2015. In that role, he was responsible for leading the operations for 456 Ford and Lincoln dealers in 13 states and covering five major metro areas, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Seattle, and Denver.
He joined Ford in 1989 and has held various marketing, sales, and service positions in the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America. He gained experience in merchandising, brand development, product marketing, franchising, sales development, and dealer operations.
