Ford's redesigned Focus will go on sale in North America in 2019 with a suite of new driver assist features, and will be available in Europe and China later this year.

The new Focus will include technologies such high-speed internet connectivity, available wireless charging for mobile devices, the debut of Fords Co-Pilot360, which is a suite of advanced driver assist features, and more, Ford said in a release. The Focus features all-new suspension, an all-new gasoline, EcoBoost gasoline and EcoBlue diesel engines and a fast-shifting all-new 8-speed transmission. It will also be more spacious and offer a longer wheelbase.

The Focus will be available in the European market this year with the Vignale, ST-Line, Active, and Titanium models, and the ST-Line and Titanium models for China. Ford will introduce its Focus line for North America closer to its on-sale date in 2019.

The all-new Focus will be available as a 4-door sedan, 5-door estate/wagon and 5-door hatchback body style, depending on the market, according to Ford.

Available technologies of the new Focus include adaptive cruise control, an adaptive front lighting system, active park assist, evasive steering assist, and more.

The features of the next-generation Focus are tailored to each global region.

“We’ll tailor which cars in the Focus line-up we offer in markets around the world to ensure we best meet customers’ different needs and preferences,” said Jim Farley, president of Global Markets at Ford.

Another highlight for the Focus is connectivity, as Ford has said that 90% of its new global vehicles will be equipped with internet connectivity by 2020, said Ford. The new Focus will come with FordPass Connect embedded with modem technology. This allows Ford customers to turn the vehicle into a mobile WiFi hotspot with connectivity for up to 10 devices

The all-new Focus offers standard Drive Mode Technology, including normal, sport and eco modes, which enables drivers to adjust engine and transmission response, steering feel and adaptive cruise control to match the driving situation from sporty to efficiency-minded.

In China, the all-new Focus offers a range of advanced gasoline engines, including the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine, plus an all-new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine optimized for high torque at low rpm, accoring to Ford. In Europe, Focus brings two additional options: a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline and 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel. North American powertrain options will be announced closer to launch.
