Fleet Safety Seminar: Put Down the Phone—New Tools to Understand and Combat Distracted Driving
Understand the psychology behind distracted driving and get the solutions to eradicate this risky behavior.

This session will help you understand the root causes of distracted driving, with solutions to counter the problem.
You’ve heard the stats before: Distracted driving collisions killed 3,142 people in 2019 alone. But do you fully understand the root causes of distracted driving — including the powerful effects of dopamine, which can be triggered by a cell phone ping?
Plan to attend an eye-opening seminar, “Put Down the Phone: New Tools to Understand and Combat Distracted Driving” at Fleet Safety Experience on Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. EST.
As a fleet operator, your goal is to keep your drivers — and everyone they share the road with — as safe as possible. Yet mitigating distracted driving is no easy feat. Arm yourself with the very latest solutions to battle this all-too-prevalent problem.
A trio of panelists will set the stage with insights on the allure of cell phone use behind the wheel — in spite of the fact that drivers know the behavior is dangerous.
Michelle Calloway, of General Motors and OnStar Business Solutions, will explore ways operators can run their fleets with confidence, measure baseline risks, and implement effective driver coaching.
Clay Skelton, founder of Origo, will share his knowledge about how to choose and implement a cell phone safety solution that’s right for your fleet.
Yoav Banin, chief product officer for Nauto, will discuss ways AI technology is being used to identify levels of distraction.
"Crashes caused by driver distraction are both an ethical and economic problem that are largely preventable," said Chris Brown, conference chair. "This seminar is designed to help fleet managers understand the psychology behind the behavior and then arm attendees with powerful ways to attack the problem and better protect their drivers."
“Put Down the Phone—New Tools to Understand and Combat Distracted Driving” will take place on Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. EST. The 2021 Fleet Safety Experience convenes virtually Sept. 21-23.
