In 1986, Ron Mawaka, Sr. saw the need for fleets to have a central business to contact for all of their rental needs. He then founded Rental Concepts, Inc. (RCI) to provide temporary rental solutions.

Over the next 10 years, while working to meet their clients’ rental needs, RCI saw an additional need in the fleet industry for accident & maintenance management service providers. In 1997, RCI expanded under the division name Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS). While RCI continued to provide rental services, the new division began providing accident, maintenance and subrogation services. In 2003, the two divisions combined under one name, Fleet Response. The new name was designed to integrate the companies’ comprehensive services to better serve client needs.

Currently, Fleet Response offers accident reporting, vehicle repair or salvage, rental replacements, maintenance, loss recovery, driver safety programs and custom web development as well as various custom client solutions. In 2011, Fleet Response is expected to launch a new corporate website as well as an upgrade to their current client On-Line Information Service.

Over the past 25 years, the company’s growth has led them to four different office locations and a recent expansion in 2009 at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. Also, in the last five years, Fleet Response has experienced sales growth of 46% which earned the company a spot on the Weatherhead100 list that recognizes the fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio.

“We are extremely proud of how far we have come in just 25 years,” says Scott Mawaka, President and COO. “The success we have been able to achieve is a direct result of the hard work & dedication of many professionals both inside and out of the organization. We look forward to many more years of delivering excellent product and customer service to the fleet industry.”

Ron Mawaka, Sr., Chairman and his partners, Myron Zadony, Co-Chairman and Claude Nolty, 25 year Board Member, would like to thank the many clients, vendors and employees for making the last 25 years memorable and successful.
