Fleet Managers Test Drive All-Electric Work Trucks

LOS ANGELES - Boulder Electric Vehicle was in the Los Angeles area on Sept. 8-9 to give fleet managers, utility managers, and government officials the opportunity to see and drive one of the company's all-electric commercial work trucks. The event included presentations and discussions and was hosted and sponsored by the City of Los Angeles, the California Clean Cities Coalition, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
The Los Angeles event were part of four days of ride-and-drives in the SoCal region, which had an overall attendance of about 150 fleet managers, city managers, utility executives, and interested citizens. According to company representative Gerry Dameron, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Boulder Electric Vehicle's 11,000 pound GVWR work trucks and vans have a 120-mile range, an on-board charger so they can plug in anywhere (220v or 110v), and have payload capacities of up to 5,000 pounds. The vehicles are highway-speed capable at 65 mph and produce no tailpipe emissions. According to the company, the trucks can lower cost of operation per mile.
Boulder EV has recently secured millions of dollars in funding from the California Energy Commission to support the launching of BEV's next GREEN COLLAR truck manufacturing plant in southern California, according to the company. Earlier this year Boulder EV expanded its national production capacity with the purchase of a 60,000 square-foot truck manufacturing plant in Colorado.
