More than 360 fleet managers and exhibitors attended Fleet Expo 2003, which featured 16 fleet management seminars and the World’s Largest Fleet Ride & Drive. The conference was held at the Meadowlands Convention Center in Secaucus on Oct. 7-9, 2003. “The seminars were very informative and well done,” said Ron LeClair, Transportation Supervisor for Laboratory Alliance of Central N.Y.

In conjunction with Fleet Expo 2003, the University of Washington offered a special pre-conference workshop on Analytical Fleet Management. John Dolce, fleet manager for Essex County, NJ, taught the 8-hour interactive workshop. All fleet managers attending the workshop received a certificate of completion awarding .7 continuing education units or seven professional development hours from the University of Washington.

Among the other highlights of the conference:

• Maryann Keller, president of Maryann Keller Associates, presented a keynote address on “A Forecast of the Automotive Industry in 2004 and How It Will Affect Your Business.

• Terry Flesia, president of Autocross & Associates, presented a step-by-step explanation on how to computerize your fleet operation.

• Scott Jenkins and Suzie Hedger of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. spoke on how to perform an expense review of your fleet operation.
