Greenlots has partnered with BMW Group Asia to provide Singapore with its first home and public charging network as part of BMW’s 360 Electric program. The EV infrastructure upgrade will help support Singapore’s growing EV population, according to the companies.
For public charging, Greenlots will use its Sky Smart Charging platform to administer BMW’s ChargeNow network in Singapore. The driver will gain access through Greenlots mobile app. The Greenlots' app will allow BMW i ChargeNow cars to find the nearest charging station, according to Greenlots.
Greenlots said it expects to rollout up to 30 L2 (AC) chargers across 20 strategic public locations within 2014.
For home charging, Greenlots will do an inspection of the driver's home or office to determine if it is electric mobility friendly. Once the electrician gives the green-light on the home, the company said it will help install the BMW i Wallbox Pure.
This partnership and rollout has been synchronized with BMW I’s first market launch in Southeast Asia and the first publicly available commercial EV to hit Singapore streets.
The 360 Electric program was created for owners of BMW i vehicles to focus on four factors: public charging, home charging, flexible mobility, and assistance services, according to the companies.
