Faulty Tire Monitoring Triggers Land Rover Recall
The recall, expected to begin Dec. 1, will cover more than 28,000 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and LR4 SUVs.

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 28,037 2014 model-year Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs, along with 2013-2014-MY LR4 SUVs, so dealers can update software affecting readings of the tire pressure monitoring system.
The vehicles were manufactured from Sept. 16, 2013, to June 30 of this year.
In the recalled vehicles, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate unnecessarily, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. The system will stop functioning as a reliable means to alert the driver of an actual tire pressure problem.
To resolve the issue, dealers will update the body control module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Dec. 1.
