Examining Used-Vehicle Data Privacy at CAR
The 2018 Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR) will be comprised of myriad keynote presentations and industry meetings that touch on pressing topics in vehicle remarketing, including a town hall discussion on how data privacy and cyber security threats are impacting the industry.

The 2018 Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR) will be comprised of five keynote presentations and industry meetings that touch on pressing topics in vehicle remarketing, including a town hall discussion on how data privacy and cyber security threats are impacting the industry.
The discussion, titled “Data Privacy and Cyber Security Threats to the Remarketing Industry,” will be presented by Andrea Amico of Jack Cooper Logistics and Faye Francy of Auto-ISAC and is being billed as an International Automotive Remarketing Alliance (IARA) town hall discussion. It will be hosted on the last day of CAR 2018.
CAR 2018 will be held March 6 to 7, with IARA meetings being hosted just prior to the start of the conference on March 5. These will both be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Other presentations include a keynote address on how remarketers can collaborate with OEMs and acquisitions team to enhance brand residuals, which will be presented by Kurt Kohler of Enterprise Holdings; and a National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) keynote presentation from Mike Eruzione, captain of the "Miracle on Ice" Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team.
The IARA is concurrently hosting is Spring Roundtable meetings at the same location as CAR, and includes a keynote from Bob White of ARI who will be speaking on disruptive trends in the remarketing industry. This address is open to all CAR attendees.
Other general sessions will be held at CAR 2018 and will touch on topic such as planning for changes in the auction industry and trends in the evolution of vehicle marshalling and redistribution logistics management.
Several awards ceremonies will also be presented at CAR 2018, including the 2018 Remarketer of the Year and 2018 Consignor of the Year, as well as the IARA Circle of Excellence Award, and the Ed Bobit Industry Icon Award.
