Emkay's goGREEN Program Becomes U.S. EPA SmartWay Program Affiliate
ITASCA, IL – As an affiliate, Emkay will educate and consult with customers on the benefits of SmartWay-Certified vehicles to reduce CO2 from fleet.
ITASCA, IL – Emkay is now an affiliate of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SmartWay Program. In 2004, the U.S. EPA launched SmartWay. In its simplest form, the SmartWay brand identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions and signifies a partnership among government, businesses, and consumers to protect our environment, reduce fuel consumption, and improve air quality for future generations.
As an affiliate, Emkay, along with its own eco-responsibility initiatives as a carbon negative organization, will educate and consult with customers on the benefits of SmartWay-Certified vehicles in an effort to help the
universal goal of reducing CO2 from fleet industry vehicles. In conjunction with the EPA, Emkay has a comprehensive Green Vehicle Guide for customers which will be used as one of the tools to accomplish these goals.
Within the goGREEN program, Emkay will assist customers with all environmental-related fleet initiatives through tracking, reporting, and benchmarking.
"Considering carbon dioxide accounts for approximately 82 percent of all greenhouse gases with an average car emitting approximately 12,000 lbs. each year, Emkay is committed in doing its part to make the environment a cleaner place," said Chris Tepas, executive vice president of marketing.
