Electrify America Partially Shuts Down EV Charging Network
Electrify America has shut down a majority of its high-powered EV chargers at the recommendation of its charging cable technology supplier due to safety concerns.

The supplier, HUBER+SUHNER, asked Electrify America to shut down parts of its network that use is high-powered cables to investigate a potential safety issue with tis liquid-cooled cables.

Electrify America has shut down a majority of its high-powered EV chargers at the recommendation of its charging cable technology supplier due to safety concerns.
The supplier, HUBER+SUHNER, asked Electrify America to shut down parts of its network that use its high-powered cables to investigate a potential safety issue with its liquid-cooled cables, according to Electrify America. The recommendation was issued to all of HUBER+SUHNERS’ customers using the technology worldwide.
The high-powered chargers feature a 150kW to 350kW range.
Electrify America chargers not affected by the high-power cable issue will remain open and available for use, the company stated. The 50kW CCS chargers, all CHAdeMO connectors, and L2 chargers are not impacted.
