Dow Kokam recently announced an agreement with European vehicle manufacturer PVI to supply battery packs to power a fully electric 26-ton refuse truck. Dow Kokam, established in 2009, manufactures advanced energy storage technologies for the transportation and other industries. The company is owned by Dow Chemical Co., TK Advanced Battery LLC and Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault.

"European vehicle manufacturers are in need of energy storage solutions for electric vehicles that meet the performance needs of drivers today while delivering CO2 reduction as well," said Ravi Shanker, president and CEO of Dow Kokam. "We have listened, studied and understood the rapidly evolving needs of the passenger vehicle market and have developed a collaborative and flexible approach to designing and applying advanced battery technology to very specific vehicle needs."

At its booth, (Stand 64 10, Green Pavillon, Geneva Palexpo), Dow Kokam will feature multiple displays to demonstrate its cell technology and pack design that can be integrated into vehicles. The company will also display an interactive digital model of an entire Dow Kokam battery system in operation in a vehicle.

"Dow Kokam provides the production capacity, performance capability and design flexibility to meet the advanced battery needs of the passenger and commercial vehicle markets with large-format battery technology that is proven over 10 years in demanding real-world applications and battery system capability that is road-tested." said Jean-Francois Herchin, vice president of Dow Kokam.
