Dominion Virginia Power to Help Install EV Charging Stations
RICHMOND, VA - Dominion Virginia Power, which has several plug-in electric vehicles and hybrid bucket trucks in its fleet, will work with the state of Virginia to install electric-vehicle charging stations.
RICHMOND, VA - Dominion Virginia Power will work with the state of Virginia to install electric-vehicle charging stations, according to the Richmond-Times Dispatch.
The charging stations, installed at no cost to the state, are designed to accommodate most of hybrid electric vehicles available. Use of the stations will be complimentary.
Several electric vehicle charging stations were installed earlier this month, with the capacity to charge up to four vehicles at a time.
"The charging stations will help promote hybrid electric vehicles, meet the future needs of our vehicle fleet and help budget-conscious Virginians in a tough time," said Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, reported the Dispatch.
The stations will charge vehicles at 120 volts and eventually be upgraded to 240 volts.
Dominion has several plug-in electric vehicles and hybrid bucket trucks in its fleet. The fleet showed off its International DuraStar hybrid trucks, which run on B-20 biodiesel, earlier this year.
