Dodge Challengers Recalled for Software Update
The instrument cluster in certain 2015 models might go into a reset condition and fail to check warning lamps during vehicle startup.

FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group, is recalling about 11,600 2015 model-year Dodge Challenger coupes so dealers can reprogram the instrument cluster with new software, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
Because of a software glitch, the instrument cluster in these vehicles might go into a reset condition and fail to check warning lamps during vehicle startup. The recall applies only to 2015 models built through Oct. 4.
Since the repair is software related and doesn’t require hoists, FCA US is encouraging dealers to consider alternative scheduling and servicing approaches to more readily complete the remedy.
Other safety-related news involving the 2015 Dodge Challenger is more upbeat. The vehicle recently drew NHTSA's five-star overall safety rating for crashworthiness.
