WASHINGTON - Diamond Coach Corp. is recalling 1,320 model-year 2006-2010 buses because of a potential fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers IBD, PS, PT and VIP models that are equipped with Carrier GENV EM-1 evaporator units. Over time, the fuse may loosen in the fuse holder, resulting in high resistance and arcing. If enough arcing occurs, the fuse holder may melt and create a fire risk.
Diamond Coach will notify bus owners of the recall and inform them how to obtain the retrofit kit from Carrier along with repair instructions.
