Derive Efficiency has former a partnership with Clean Fuels Ohio as part of the Midwest DRIVES Initiative, which aims to provide a simple and cost-effective way for fleets in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. to save fuel and reduce emissions, the engine software developer announced.

Clean Fuels Ohio, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s nearly 100 Clean Cities coalitions, strives to improve air quality and health, reduce environmental pollution, and strengthen Ohio’s economy by increasing the use of cleaner and energy-saving vehicles.

Stemming from a Department of Energy grant to Clean Fuels Ohio and partner groups, the Midwest DRIVES Initiative is a comprehensive fleet vehicle program designed to specifically address barriers to fuel savings technology. As part of the initiative, fleets within the Midwest will be offered a range of fuel savings products for demonstrations and will be provided with detailed analysis on the various products’ performance, Derive Efficiency said.

Derive Efficiency’s engine calibration technology has been proven to save fleet managers up to 30 percent in idle fuel consumption while reducing carbon emissions by up to 16 percent, according to the company.
