Delphi Occupant Sensor Airbag Debuts on GM Trucks
New General Motors trucks have Delphi's Recognition passive occupant detection system with a seatbelt tension sensor, making them some of the first vehicles to fully comply with the recently enacted FMVSS 208 regulations that require an advanced airbag system.
New General Motors trucks have Delphi's Recognition passive occupant detection system with a seatbelt tension sensor, making them some of the first vehicles to fully comply with the recently enacted FMVSS 208 regulations that require an advanced airbag system. GM's 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Denali, and Cadillac Escalade brands currently being launched in the U.S. include the Delphi-developed, silicone-based weight sensing technology mounted under the passenger seat cushion. The integrated system works to help provide enhanced safety through reduced risk of airbag-reduced injury.
