Clean Energy and the City of Dallas Partner to Develop CNG Vehicle Fueling Facility at Dallas Love Field

Clean Energy and the City of Dallas, Texas, announced April 22 that they have developed a public/private partnership to construct and operate a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicular fueling facility at Dallas Love Field. The facility is planned to promote alternative-fuel usage by airport shuttle services and provide increased availability to the city's expanding fleet of CNG-fueled service vehicles. Dallas operates more than 900 CNG vehicles and plans to expand that number to 1,200 vehicles by the end of 2004. Dallas Mayor Laura Miller and Clean Energy founder Boone Pickens joined in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new station. The station, in conjunction with a second station being built near downtown Dallas, represents a public/private partnership between the City of Dallas and Clean Energy, leveraging the city's funds and taxpayer dollars while encouraging clean transportation. Dallas is providing the land and paving improvements, and Clean Energy is providing the equipment and installation under a 10-year operating agreement.
