Clean Cities Honors Norman, Okla., Fleet and OnCue Express
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The fleet division for the city of Norman, Okla., and convenience store operator OnCue Express last week both won 2011 Zach D. Taylor Jr. Clean Cities Vision Awards for Regional Alternative Fuel Leadership.
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The fleet division for the city of Norman, Okla., and convenience store operator OnCue Express last week both won 2011 Zach D. Taylor Jr. Clean Cities Vision Awards for Regional Alternative Fuel Leadership.
The awards were given at the 10th annual Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Awards Luncheon on Dec. 6.
The awards honor leadership in the quest to reduce dependence on foreign oil, improve air quality, strengthen local economies and increase public awareness of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies.
The city of Norman has included alternative fuel vehicles in its fleet for more than a decade. Norman was also the first city in Oklahoma to adopt a formal alternative-fuel fleet policy and replacement program.
OnCue Express in 2009 partnered with Chesapeake Energy Corp. to bring more compressed natural gas stations to Oklahoma. The company now operates 10 CNG fueling stations and two E85 flex-fuel stations. Last week, OnCue Express also announced plans to open CNG fueling stations at existing Oklahoma locations in Del City, Stillwater and Enid.
