Chrysler Recalls Fiat 500L to Replace Knee Air Bags
The action involves 25,500 vehicles in the U.S. and 4,000 in Canada.

Chrysler Group announced plans to recall an estimated 29,500 2014-2015 model-year Fiat 500L cars to replace air bags designed to protect the driver’s knees.
The automaker released a statement saying its decision to issue the recall followed “routine testing that suggests the supplemental restraint – designed to protect a driver’s knees – may not deploy in the proper position if the driver is not wearing a seat belt.”
Chrysler noted it’s unaware of any injuries tied to the problem. The recall covers 25,500 cars in the U.S. and 4,000 in Canada. The automaker will later advise vehicle owners when they can schedule the repair service, which will be free of charge.
In the meantime, Chrysler reminds drivers to always buckle up their seat belt.
