Chrysler Recalls 21K Vehicles Globally for Shocks, Struts
The recall involves Ram 1500 pickups, Jeep Cherokee SUVs and Chrysler 200 sedans assembled within a 16-day period earlier this year.

Chrysler Group is recalling an estimated 21,000 pickup trucks, SUVs and sedans to inspect and, if necessary, replace the shocks, struts or both.
The global recall involves 2014 model-year Ram 1500 pickups, 2015 MY Jeep Cherokee SUVs and 2015 MY Chrysler 200 sedans assembled within a 16-day period ending June 6 of this year.
An estimated 14,300 vehicles are in the U.S., 5,300 are in Canada, 160 are in the Mexico and 2,000 are outside the NAFTA region.
Chrysler Group said it’s staging the recall campaign to identify vehicles that may have been assembled using a shipment of shocks and struts that don’t meet quality standards. The components may break free from their mounts, which could lead to reduced shock damping and loss of vehicle control.
Chrysler said its parts supplier identified the problem. The automaker added that it isn’t aware of any related injuries, accidents or complaints. Vehicle owners will be notified when the recall remedy is available, so they can schedule a service appointment. There will be no charge for the repairs.
