Chrysler Group and its Web development partner, Organic, have introduced the Chrysler Design Institute at www.design.chrysler.com, a Web site highlighting Chrysler's heritage of design. According to Chrysler, since its launch in May, more than 110,000 visits have been logged. The site, featured on the Chrysler brand home page, (www.chrysler.com), provides a virtual automotive design museum. Information on Chrysler's design history, design resources and sources of automotive design inspiration can be found on this site. Visitors to the site choosE one of three content areas: Vehicle Design, Design Influences and Design Education. Vehicle Design features a vehicle gallery, a look at the design process, history and car clubs. The site offers a virtual showroom of Chrysler's most significant automobiles past, present and future, from the Chrysler Airflow, designed in 1934, to photos and specs of the Prowler and PT Cruiser, as well as the new Crossfire and Pacifica. The site includes concept sketches and photos, many of which are unavailable anywhere else. The second content area, design influences, leads visitors through the Chrysler Design Awards and the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. Here, design mavens can share in the Web sites and resources that Chrysler designers look to for inspiration both in and outside the automotive industry. The third content area, design education, offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the "Build Your Own Dream Vehicle" competition.
