Chevy Express and GMC Savana Achieve Combined Record Sales in December 2003
The Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana had record sales in December 2003, up 36 percent over December 2002. Total sales for the Express and Savana for the 2003 calendar year were up 4.3 percent over the prior year.
The Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana had record sales in December 2003, up 36 percent over December 2002. Total sales for the Express and Savana for the 2003 calendar year were up 4.3 percent over the prior year. The December market share for the Express and Savana was 53.2 percent, up 10 share points over December of 2002, and the 2003 calendar year market share was a record 43 percent, up 3.3 share points over 2002. Sales in 2003 represent five consecutive years of market-share growth, gaining 13 points of share since 1998. "We feel this growth is attributed to customers realizing the benefits of our new vans, engineered for the 21st Century with segment-leading features such as left hand 60/40 swing-out doors, side-access panels, all-wheel-drive offerings, and most recently the StabiliTrak stability enhancement system," said Ross Hendrix, director, commercial vans for GM Fleet & Commercial Operations.
