The Ford F-150, Mazda CX-9, and Chrysler Pacifica have been named to Car and Driver's inaugural list of 10Best Trucks and SUVs for the 2017 model year.

The publication, whose 10Best Cars list is a must-read, also picked seven other SUVs, including luxury models.

The publication named winners in 10 categories, including the Kia Soul for subcompact SUV, BMW X1 for subcompact luxury SUV, Honda CR-V for compact SUV, Porsche Macan for compact luxury SUV, Mazda CX-9 for mid-size SUV, Audi Q7 for luxury SUV, Mercedes-Benz GLS450 for large SUV, Honda Ridgeline for mid-size pickup, F-150 and F-150 Raptor for full-size pickup, and the Chrysler Pacifica for van.

In November, Car and Driver released its 2017 10Best Cars list that includes the Chevrolet Bolt, Mazda 3 and Volkswagen golf/Alltrack/GTI/R. The list also included the BMW M2/M240i, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Ford Mustang Shelby GT350/GT350R, Honda Accord, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman.
