The California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC), a non-profit organization that links hydrogen-technology developers, businesses, energy leaders, government, and infrastructure providers, announced that it has launched a new website, http://www.californiahydrogen.org/. The site enables users to find information on upcoming meetings, register for conferences, join the organization, update company and/or individual profiles in the member directory, seamlessly visit Silver Member websites, and browse related links, notes CHBC President Hank Wedaa. In addition, monthly e-newsletters are posted, along with industry announcements and press releases. “The hydrogen economy can only succeed if the private sector is successful,” Wedaa said, “so the CHBC plays a unique role in the transition. Unlike organizations that target research, we exist to help members build viable businesses. That is becoming increasingly important since the state is emphasizing its reliance on the private sector to build the California Hydrogen Highway. Together, our goals are to retain businesses in California, create job opportunities, and bring new business to the state while reducing petroleum dependency and harmful emissions.” Silver Members of the Council include Air Products and Chemicals, American Honda Motor Corp., Anuvu, Apollo Power, BMW North America, California Air Resources Board, Clean Energy, Collier Technologies, ECD Ovonics, EmeraChem, General Atomics, General Electric Global Research, Hydrogen Car Company, Hydrogenics Corporation, Intelligent Energy, Praxair, Proton Energy Systems, Quantum Technologies, San Diego Community College District, SE Corporation, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Stuart Energy Systems, and The BOC Group.
