Robert M. Burnett, president of National Auto Research (NAR) announces the addition of trailer values to the Black Book Official Used Heavy Duty Truck Guide beginning with the February issue. Burnett stated, “This is something that our customers have asked for and we are pleased to be able to deliver it to them. The combination of used-truck and trailer values within one publication provides Black Book with a unique product in this market. The combined publication will contain values for the six most widely used trailers in the commercial market, and as interest warrants other types may be added.” The six types of trailers covered include dry van, refrigerated van, steel flatbed trailer, dump trailer, curtain side trailer, and drop frame trailer. Wholesale, retail and loan values are given for the trailers in their base configuration with adjustments for equipment variances. Each trailer type lists specifications that are used for the base value as well as minimum condition requirements.
