Bar's Products has purchased Hy-Per Lube Corp.'s lubricants business, and will continue to offer Hy-Per Lube brand additives alongside Bar's Leaks and Rislone.
Hy-Per Lube products complement the Rislone automotive performance chemical catalog and the Bar's Leaks stop-leak product line, according to the company. Hy-Per Lube is a strategic fit because of the brand's reputation within the automotive industry, particularly among commercial technicians and the automotive trade market.
The Hy-Per Lube brand will "continue its legacy under the proven management and guidance of Bar's Products," the company said.
Located in Seattle, Hy-Per Lube was founded in the early 1950s by Harold Hilton. At the time, Hilton fabricated high-quality valves for a wide range of industries, including paper and pulp, electrical power generation, petrochemical and marine.
The enormous amount of heat and friction generated by the worm gears within the valves was causing premature wear and failure, so he developed Hy-Per Lube, a high-film-strength, non-foaming, extreme-pressure oil supplement. From that single product grew an entire toolbox of chemical solutions beloved by race teams, master mechanics and car owners, including Hy-Per Lube Zinc Replacement Additive, Super Coolant, Max Octane, Quick Heat, Total Fuel System Cleaner, and Diesel Super Coolant.
The company will show its products later this month at AAPEX in Booth #3616 and at the SEMA Show in South Hall at Booth #30309.
