Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 1,814 2013 model-year Audi Q7 luxury SUVs because they’re at risk for losing power braking assist, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The vehicles – manufactured from June 5, 2012, to Nov. 29, 2012 – are equipped with a 3.0L TDI engine. A check valve in the engine may become contaminated with plastic debris and allow engine oil to leak into the brake booster. If this occurs, the brake booster diaphragm may rupture, causing a loss of power braking assist, NHTSA said.
