Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 536 2007-2009 model-year Audi A8 and S8 luxury sedans because the sunroofs are at risk for detaching, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“The sunroof glass on the affected vehicles may not be properly secured to the sunroof frame,” NHTSA explained on its website. “As a result, the sunroof glass may detach from the car while driving.”
Audi dealers will install additional adhesive between the sunroof glass and frame, free of charge, to address the problem. The recall is expected to begin this month.
Vehicle owners can reach Audi customer service at (800) 253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 60C3.
