AT&T and FleetComplete have introduced the Asset Tracker One (AT1) that allows commercial fleet managers to track a variety of assets and monitor the assets via the Fleet Complete mobile app.
In addition to providing a real-time location of the asset, AT1 also captures humidity, temperature, light exposure, and other information for industries such as transportation, agriculture, food services, pharmaceuticals, and emergency services. The device, which operates on AT&T's LTE-M wireless network, easily attaches to the asset with screws, ties, or tape.
The device is powered by two high-capacity lithium AA batteries taht can last up to five years with once-a-day use, according to the company.
Michigan-based logistics company TQT LLC has begun using the device to track trailers.
"We never did this before because of the high cost," said Ismar Jakupovic, TQT's safety director. "We had to call the driver and ask. Now we just use the mobile app and we always know where they are."
The AT1 is available as an add-on to the AT&T Fleet Complete tracking and management platform or as a separate buy. It retails for $50 at select AT&T retail stores, and monthly service plans start at $8. It's also available to AT&T business customers from direct and indirect sellers, including solution providers in the AT&T Alliance Channel and AT&T Partner Exchange reseller program.
