MT. LAUREL, NJ - ARI, a leading global fleet services provider specializing in complex car and truck fleets, announced today it recycled nearly 4 tons of paper and electronics on November 15 as part of America Recycles Day, a nationally recognized initiative of Keep America Beautiful dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

Employees were encouraged to bring in electronics and paper waste they were looking to dispose of safely and securely, which resulted in more than 5,000 pounds of electronics and more than 2,500 pounds of paper being recycled. ARI’s participation is another example of the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices that focus on the minimization of waste and pollution while providing a safe and healthy workplace.

“Sustainability is important to our company and our clients,” said Melanie Murphy, Manager of Strategic Consulting. “We’re not surprised that we had such great participation in this event. We don’t just talk the talk; we implement sustainable office procedures and organize activities like this so our employees and clients think about sustainability every day.”

In addition to its participation in America Recycles Day, ARI has taken a number of other company-wide steps toward sustainability. In the past few years it has installed motion sensor lights, flow and motion sensor restroom fixtures, LED lights in its parking lots and software on its network to automatically power down idle work stations overnight.

The company also offers an online sustainability training course for all of its employees. It makes recycling available for most types of office waste including paper, cardboard, aluminum, glass, plastic, electronic equipment and printer cartridges.

Total recycling numbers for the America Recycles Day event were collected and tabulated by Chris Beck, Strategic Consulting Analyst at ARI.
