ARI fleet customers will be able to view telematics data about the operating conditions of their General Motors vehicles in the fleet management company's fleet management portal, under a new data agreement.
The Mount Laurel, N.J.-based fleet management company will integrate data from General Motors Fleet Connected Services into ARI insights, according to the fleet management company. The agreement with GM Fleet Connected Services was established to provide the transparency necessary to better control operating costs and help improve productivity, according to ARI.
“Our agreement with GM Fleet Connected Services eliminates two of the biggest challenges companies typically face when introducing a telematics program, device installation and data management, helping our customers easily implement a strategy that makes their fleet data impactful," said Don Woods, ARI's director of customer information systems.
General Motors' factory-installed telematics device is standard equipment for most Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles. It eliminates the need for third-party hardware and aftermarket installation. Information such as driver behavior and vehicle location flows from the vehicle’s telematics system into ARI's data warehouse, where it's integrated with the customer’s entire range of fleet data and available for analysis via ARI insights.
Customers will also receive OEM-direct data, which provides access to a greater range of information, according to ARI. In addition to traditional telematics metrics such as fuel consumption and maintenance compliance, fleet operators will have enhanced visibility into vehicle diagnostics, idle times, and downtime.
