Marking an industry milestone, the first-ever fleet certification program for fleet managers in Mexico will be unveiled at the LatAm Fleet Congress by its developer AMAFA, the Asociación Mexicana de Administradores de Flotilla Automotriz (Mexican Association of Automotive Fleet Managers).

The congress, presented entirely in Spanish, will be held June 7-9, co-locating with the Global Fleet Management Conference produced by Bobit, publisher of Automotive Fleet at the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida, in the greater Miami area.

Jaime Bringas, AMAFA president, will introduce the certification program to LatAm Congress attendees.

According to AMAFA, which provides a networking platform for members, the certification is a significant opportunity for LatAm fleet managers who most often must learn on-the-job.

Currently, the program is structured into three levels: a 15-module fleet essentials course, followed by a second course offering a deep dive into specializations, and the third focusing on professional development skills.

AMAFA has partnered with AMAVe (the Mexican Association of Vehicle Leasing Companies) to provide subject-matter expertise for the courses. According to Bringas, the program’s cost “will be affordable while delivering great value.”

“It’s important for fleet managers to have access to best practices and networking,” said Rodrigo Monroy, AMAFA member and strategic sourcing manager at Novartis. “The fleet certification program will take AMAFA to the next level.”
