Alabama Power announced today that it had contracted with Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) to supply retread tires and service to the entire Alabama Power fleet.
“Michelin retread tires are the obvious choice for Alabama Power,” said Gordon Martin, vice president southern division, Alabama Power. “The MRT retreading process and comprehensive tire management that Michelin offers will allow us to track our tire inventory better and reduce our operating costs.”
The Alabama Power fleet includes almost 1,900 passenger cars and light trucks, 840 heavy-duty trucks, 1,000 trailers and 30 off-road vehicles. The more than 3,000 vehicles operate throughout Alabama.
The two-year contract with MRT was effective Nov. 6, 2002.
