In an ongoing effort to strengthen its information technology services to the automotive remarketing industry, ADESA has appointed Terry Daniels as vice president, chief information officer. In this role, Daniels will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and enhancing information throughout the organization. He will also manage ADESA’s Information Technology and e-Business Services. Daniels replaced former senior vice president of information services, Warren Byrd, who will continue in a familiar role as executive vice president of corporate development with a focus on e-commerce and salvage operations. Daniels began his career in 1998 with ADESA Canada as the company’s director of information technology. In 2000 when ADESA Canada completed the acquisition of Impact Auto Auctions, Daniels was promoted to chief operating officer. He will report to ADESA President Brian Warner. ADESA has also appointed Warren Byrd executive vice president of corporate development. Byrd will be responsible for growing the company with a primary focus in salvage and e-commerce operations. Byrd replaced Bill Stackhouse, who was recently named chief operating officer of ADESA’s sister company, Automotive Finance Corp. In 1994 Byrd, joined ADESA Corp. as associate counsel. Byrd was later promoted to general counsel before taking a leadership role as vice president of corporate development in 1999. In 2001, Byrd was promoted to senior vice president of information services. Byrd’s latest promotion coincides with the alignment of ADESA Corp. and Automotive Finance Corp. under one umbrella called ALLETE Automotive Services. Byrd will report to ADESA President Brian Warner and will work closely with ALLETE Automotive Services’ Chairman and CEO James Hallett.
