ADESA Names Charles Tapp Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing

ADESA Corp. has promoted Charles “Chuck” Tapp to the position of executive vice president, sales and marketing. Tapp will be responsible for developing sales initiatives to increase profitability for the company. With a primary focus in sales direction and customer relationship management, Tapp will continue to oversee ADESA’s marketing, advertising and analytical services departments. He reports to Jim Hallett, president of ADESA Corp. while working closely with Don Harris, ADESA’s chief operating officer. The promotion is the latest in a series of strategic moves designed to align all of ADESA’s business units under one common leadership direction. Tapp began his remarketing career with Alamo Rent-a-Car as the company’s national director of fleet operations. In 1995, Tapp joined Greater Auction Group, Inc. as vice president sales operations. Two years later, Tapp became director of product sourcing for Driver’s Mart Worldwide, Inc. before taking a leadership role as president of SourceOne/PrimeSource, L.L.C. in 1998. In 2000, Tapp was appointed first vice president and remarketing manager for Banc One Credit Company where he was responsible for remarketing approximately 150,000 used vehicles annually. Two years later, Tapp joined ADESA as vice president, sales where he developed the current national sales team, fostered a strategic relationship with ADESA’s operations groups, and spearheaded the creation of the ADESA Market Guide.
