ADESA Corp. announced on May 21 that David Bynum will assume leadership responsibilities for the company’s heavy-truck and equipment initiatives. Bynum will also continue in his position of regional vice president, southern operations. Bynum began his career in 1989 as general manager with Southern States Vehicle Auction, a car and heavy-truck auction now known as ADESA Atlanta. ADESA also named J.D. Larsh national operations manager for heavy-duty trucks and equipment and John Maurer national sales manager for heavy-duty trucks. Larsh and Maurer will report to Bynum. Larsh will be responsible for establishing new business and creating a uniform reconditioning program for heavy trucks and equipment. A 19-year vehicle auction veteran with experience in heavy trucks and equipment, Larsh helped create the heavy truck sale known today as ADESA Orlando-Sanford. Maurer will be charged with securing units and buyers for ADESA’s heavy-truck sales located coast to coast. A 1990 graduate of the University of Akron, Maurer began his career in heavy-truck sales as a regional sales representative for R&R Truck Sales, Inc. in Akron, OH. Maurer has also served as a regional sales manager as well as a heavy-truck manager for ADESA Pittsburgh.
