Two more work truck upfitters – Terex South Dakota and Monroe Truck Equipment – are recalling modified Ford Super Duty trucks to address a fire risk linked to Muncie Power Products PTO assemblies, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The Terex South Dakota recall involves 74 2009-2013 model-year LT38, LT40, LTM40, NT29, TL37, HR40, L13i and TPL40 aerial devices built on 2009-2013 MY Ford F-350, F450 or F-550 Super Duty chassis with a 6.8L engine. These trucks, equipped with Muncie Power Products PTO assemblies, may experience oil leaks from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket covering the exhaust. This condition poses a fire risk, NHTSA said.
