Acura MDX SUVs Recalled for Faulty Bolts
The recall affects 106,439 of the luxury crossovers in the 2014 and 2015 model years.

American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 106,439 2014-2015 model-year Acura MDX and MDX AWD vehicles to fix a problem related to the air conditioning compressor clutch plate.
The recall covers SUVs manufactured from April 23, 2013, to Dec. 16, 2014. They have air conditioning compressor clutch drive bolts that may not have the proper anti-corrosion coating, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. As a result, such a bolt might corrode and break, allowing the compressor clutch plate to separate from the vehicle. This would pose a road hazard.
Honda dealers will replace the air conditioning compressor clutch drive bolt and install a new clutch plate if needed. There will be no charge for this service.
The recall is expected to begin July 31. Vehicle owners can reach Acura client relations at (800) 382-2238. Honda’s number for this recall is JQ7.
