WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 4,000 MY 2010 Range Rover vehicles because of a problem with the passenger airbag.
A defect may lead to airbag warning lamp illumination on the instrument cluster. The passenger airbag will be disabled when the airbag warning lamp is illuminated as a result of this defect, and the passenger airbag warning disable lamp in the overhead console will also illuminate.
This condition increases the risk that the passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of a vehicle crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
To remedy the problem, dealers will update the vehicle's restraints control module with the integrated diagnostics system tool with the appropriate software. This service will be performed free of charge.
