WASHINGTON - Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. is recalling about 2,300 MY 2010 Galant vehicles because of a problem with the automatic transmission oil cooler pipe assembly.
On some vehicles, this assembly may have insufficient plating to prevent corrosion. If the pipe eventually develops a hole because of the corrosion, automatic transmission fluid can leak. This creates a fire hazard.
To remedy the problem, dealers will inspect the automatic transmission oil cooler pipe assembly and make any needed replacements. There will be no charge for this service.
The recall begins this month. Mitsubishi can be reached at (800) 222-0037.
