2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Captures Top Safety Rating from NHTSA
It may be touted for its sporty new look, but safety is in the driver’s seat when it comes to the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) has recognized the redesigned 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross with a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating, the highest accolade a vehicle can achieve from NHTSA’s NCAP.
The award covers all variants of the 2022 Eclipse Cross, notes the automaker.
The sporty Eclipse Cross was put through the paces, undergoing a series of rigorous crashworthiness tests. The car performed exceptionally well in all categories, garnering five stars in the combined side-crash ratings and four stars on both the driver- and passenger-side frontal cash tests.
While the new Eclipse Cross boasts a fresh, fun “look,” style takes a backseat to safety when it comes to NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program. In addition to measuring up to evaluation standards, NCAP experts were likely impressed with the car’s outstanding safety features including an array of standard advanced driver assistance systems on all trim levels, including Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection.
