The 2022 Fleet Safety Conference announces that Bruce Landsberg, vice chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), will deliver the opening keynote on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
In “NTSB Analysis: Crash Causes, Solutions, and the Future,” Landsberg will draw on NTSB’s investigations of crashes and the board’s transportation safety research to explore the hot-button issues in roadway safety today. He’ll analyze the staggering negative trends in crashes with a particular focus on distraction due to cell phone use, substance abuse, sleep apnea, and fatigue.
Landsberg will then bring forth the board’s evaluations of solutions such as speed limiters, new policies and drug testing for marijuana, automated driving systems, the relay driver model, and more. Finally, Landsberg will discuss the evolution of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to autonomy and how safety must be managed along this path.
“We’re delighted that Vice Chair Landsberg will bring NTSB’s research and evaluations to an in-person, interactive discussion with fleet stakeholders,” said Chris Brown, conference chair. “The presentation will have resonance for all of our fleet audiences, from trucking on down to passenger car fleets and everything in between.”
Brought to you by the publishers of Automotive Fleet, Heavy Duty Trucking, and Work Truck, Fleet Safety Conference (FSC) is designed specifically for fleet, risk, and safety professionals with the goal to reduce driver distraction, limit fleet liability, and enhance safety culture overall.
Entering its 11th year, Fleet Safety Conference returns to an in-person format as part of the Fleet Forward Conference Nov. 9-11 in Santa Clara, California.
As part of a combined agenda, the in-person FSC will convene an opening and closing keynote as general sessions. Concurrent sessions will take place along with Fleet Forward Conference sessions. Attendees will pay one registration fee to access both events.
